Nothing Works Like Prayer

Bless Dan for telling me how to blackhole all messages sent to other addresses on my domain. Once upon a time it was good for an admin to be able to read all of the stray mail under the theory that it was probably legitimately misdirected. How ridiculously naïve.

It looks increasingly like I just got a wave of spam from the bloodsucking virus people--set up to look like bounced messages from my own account, but really new messages to me. Guh. At least it's not a Mac virus so there will (probably) be no further effects.

Things further improved over the course of the day, with the expected messages coming in, the uncertain news turning unequivocally good, enough money turning up to make the week easier (kids, roll those quarters) and all computer problems settling down.

Let that be a lesson: if you bitch and moan and whine and use lots of swears, God listens.
