In case the Democratic capitulation on the war wasn't disappointing enough, the last two episodes of Veronica Mars were agonizingly sad. Nihilistic, even. There is no hope in Neptune. Corruption and stupidity run too deep. No one can be trusted. Everyone will leave.

Curiously, these weren't bad episodes--very good ones, in fact. But the series ends on a note of utter desolation. If I weren't already drunk I'd need to start.
