Nancy Anderson

BIRDLAND IN AUTUMN
September 23rd, October 28th & November 25th | 7:00pm

Ten Cents A Dance at Birdland

Nancy revisits her album, Ten Cents a Dance, with some new songs from upcoming projects as well as special guests. September's guests are Joe and David Zellnik, Jeff Blumenkrantz and Peter Luyrie

I caught her last show at Birdland a few months ago and was shocked at how good it was--while I've always liked Anderson in musicals, until then I never realized just how special a performer she is--funny, sexy, somehow heartbreaking. Her selection of Depression-era songs, standards and others, feels particularly timeless in her reading; the girl's got a good ear as well as a good throat.

While I can't make September's show, I'm making every effort to see one of the next two. She doesn't disappoint--go and enjoy.
