Keeping The Faith

I'm not entirely dead. I have to double-post between MT and LJ now, which is so not worth my time that I'm refusing to post on principle. Seriously, fuck this shit. I'm not going to start posting everything twice or lose half my audience; until there's a solid plugin I'm not posting except in emergencies.

Today probably qualifies:

1) My grandmother passed away today. Not a surprise given that she'd started hospice care, but sudden nonetheless. The tone at home is sadness tinged with relief; she was ridiculously old and required more care than my mother (herself a middle-aged widow) was really able to provide. It was time.

2) I had to work until one in the morning yesterday, canceling plans I had been eagerly awaiting for days, because of "emergencies" that were essentially irresponsible last-minute promises from higher-ups in the agency. I'm livid about this--enough to post something negative and work-related on my blog heedless of potential consequences. Despite the higher salary and more glamorous office, I'm actually tempted to quit. There are limits to how I allow myself to be treated.
