Maybe This Time

I finally tore out virtually all of the guts of my site and am starting fresh--old posts and comments are still online, and I'll eventually put some other old content (bios, blogrolls, simple tricks and nonsense) up, but I've dropped the old branding because (a) it's just too much work to retrofit the original look and feel to a completely new architecture, and (b) it doesn't so much fit my mood these days--Epenthesis Enterprises is a name I've kicked around for years, and it fits as well as any. I'm just sorry to lose Lisa's gorgeous design, which served me well for so many years. (Though the head-in-an-iMac thing looks utterly retro now that three iMac designs have come and gone.)

Unless I'm an incurable optimist, everything should be working fine now. I've got to hand it to Six Apart--the Movable Type user experience is far better now, with tons of things handled by the front end that once required delving into the code. Unfortunately, this is something that only new users are really going to be able to take advantage of without putting in a lot of work and/or giving up on their existing sites. Perhaps by MT5 it'll be painless to migrate.

Snazzy!

Re: the name change - I like it. "Useless Unlimited" or, say "Insipid Enterprises" both sound a bit too much like dummy corporations. The IRS would be all over you in no time.

This long time lurker is glad to see you back.

BTW, I personally think the picture of you and the puppet you had on the old design was much cuter than the one of the steroid guy you have now.

Oh, God....

Honestly, I uploaded that as part of a gag post that I abandoned for various reasons. I'd forgotten that it was there until I realized that MT4 has a default Pictures section in the sidebar. Thoughtful of them, no?

Monkey picture soon to return....
