Sad But True
The Politics of the Personal: Growing Up Idahoan | Campaign for America's Future
Can't disagree with any of this.
I felt it was unnecessary to vote against a Republican when Giuliani was running for his second term--I didn't like him, but I didn't feel like Ruth Messinger had made a case to remove him from office. Four years later, he became an American hero. Ten years later, there is a small but real chance that he could become the most authoritarian president we've ever had in this country.
No. Never again. Not for mayor, not for congressman, not for dogcatcher. The Republican party needs to be squashed so flat that it can't get up again until it's given up altogether on trying to make a coalition of the hateful and the greedy. At the moment it's just hesitating because those elements aren't coming together well lately. That's not going to last. I'm not trusting them.
