EBay's retiring chief may run for California governor - Los Angeles Times
Meg Whitman, who raised funds for Romney, has been asking key Republicans about the possibilities, sources say.
I suppose her line of reasoning is that there aren't already enough people who know she's a complete asshole.

You realize, of course, that your readers who have never heard of her (such as me) have no idea what you're talking about?
That was kind of the point, but fair enough. She got a reputation as some kind of superstar when eBay took off a decade ago, but since then she's grown increasingly notorious as a mediocre exec who got lucky. She has demonstrated no idea where to take the company--among her brilliant ideas were a print magazine (does anyone still read those?) and the acquisition of Skype (does it have anything to do with their core business?), and thus eBay has been left kind of stagnant even as the Web as a whole is going through another revolution.
So it kind of stands to reason that her next step is Republican politics. She's like Carly Fiorina, except her well-deserved humiliation will come at the hands of the electorate instead of the shareholders.
Okay... this actually sounds familiar now.
